Is certifying the distance of your race really important? Consider this, from USA Track & Field (USATF), the national governing body for track & field, long distance running, and race walking:

"For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course...Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate."1

Lee Timing LLC can provide the expert measurement and documentation services required by USATF to certify -- or re-certify -- your course. Want to be sure your 10K is really a 10K?

If you need help designing a new course, whether you intend to have it certified or not, we can map it, measure it, and mark it in time for your event. Let your imagination be your guide. Contact us today.

Measuring to USATF standards1
USATF "Gold Standard" is measurement by bicycle equipped with a calibrated Jones Riegel meter.
GPS is too inaccurate; not currently acceptable under USATF guidelines.
Measuring wheels tend to yield short courses.
Online mapping tools are great for rough course layout but don't yield accurate length.
